Carniolan Hive

These hives contain about 1600 cubic inches with movable frames. Single wall. See also HERE.

WBC Hive

Named for William Broughton Carr. Brood area contains 10 frames with 45,000 cells. It is 19 7/8 x 19 7/8. This hive can still be purchased. Double wall. Circa 1890

Omlet Beehaus

The Omlet beehive is a UK hive that holds 11 deep national brood frames (often called 14x12 frames). Supers hold 10 National super frames. Currently available HERE.

Cheshire Hive

Designed by Frank Cheshire. Holds 12 frames. Double wall with 1" interspace. Pictured with 3" chaff tray for winter. Popular around the 1880's.
